I have a short piece of encouragement for all who spread the Gospel!
If You Are Rejected:
Shake it off. I know people can be offensive and rude, but we are called to keep a Christ-like attitude. If a city rejects you, Jesus told his disciples to say this: “‘Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you.Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.’ I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town,” (Luke 10:11-12).
Also, always remember that they are ultimately rejecting God, not you. Luke 10:16 says:
“He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”
When You Preach the Gospel:
You defeat Satan when you preach the Gospel under the authority of Christ. Each time you plant that seed, Satan loses a battle. Jesus describes this Luke 10: 18-20:
“He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
When the disciples ministered in Jesus’ name, Satan’s forces were defeated over and over again.
So persevere even when you are mocked and rejected. Proceed in doing the Lord’s work. Remain faithful always. Never back down.
