Nothing can separate you from the love of God

Romans 8:35-39: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you are to fail in your spiritual life it won’t be because God didn’t love you. It won’t be because of an external force either. It will be from your own spiritual neglect and your failure to remain faithful to Jesus Christ. God’s love is only fully revealed if you are in Christ. The only way to experience that love is to have a personal relationship with His Son. Because of Christ you can never be seperated from God’s love!

That hit me really hard today. I took and walk down to a creek that is beside my house. As I sat on some rocks, I felt like I needed to turn to Romans 8. Then I read the above verses. After I read I just repeated “Nothing can separate me from the love of God” out loud to myself 6 or 7 times. Those are some powerful words! That sin you just committed…it doesn’t make God love you any less. You’re going through trials? God still loves you. I can’t even describe to you how awesome that is! Stop and think about it. NOTHING can separate you from God’s love! You are a child of God. God is a loving Father. He never stops loving you! He loves us so much that “while we were still sinners” He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us. (Romans 5:8) Because of Christ we can experience God’s love and enter eternal life with Him.

God Bless

  1. There is so much power in reading Scripture out loud…especially when you read it out loud several times in a row, several days in a row, weeks in a row, etc. Great stuff!
